Snapshots are a catalyst for painting and storytelling. A camera can be used to capture a moment that would have been lost or misunderstood. I use paint to create a conversation and interpret. Personal family photos and those the strike me in storytelling or emotion are a starting point --often finding unexpected results. The narrative in the paintings may be very apparent, create discovery, or uncover secrets for artist and viewer.
