As I write this, I have 3 days to pack and prepare. I admit I'm pretty nervous, as well as excited. Art residencies offer a unique chance for artists to step away from daily distractions and focus on areas of inspiration, real looking. I hope my time at Chateau d'Orquevaux will be exactly that: a period of intense focus, discovery, and growth. This place will provide a beautiful setting and I am looking forward to finding those images there that excite and prod me into that "place."

Arriving March 5 - Paris
I want to share my impressions during the trip to France and will be sending out regular messages through my website, email and instagram - trip includes a few days in Paris, then a train ride to the NE region of France (Ardenne) for 3 weeks of studio/residency work. After returning, paintings and other works will be influenced by this trip.

March 9-29 Chateau d'Orquevaux
At the residency, I will be joined by about 20 other artists/writers/musicians from all over the world. We are provided with a beautiful surroundings, as well as living space, a private studio and our meals are provided. We hav the benefit of both a private time, and opportunities to join together with others for meals and events. I will share my experience a couple times a week - with photos, drawings and writing about what I find there, using this blog as a place to collect thoughts and images
